Returned to the Land in 1104 AF

With the departure of the Calebi from our dearly held land, explorations began in earnest led by Mactire. Many strange and unusual beings, creatures and places were discovered. Some were ancient in truth yet others seemed to be no more than a few months old. The creature we have come to know as 'Coircre' appears to be one of these newborn wonders.

Much like us to look at, Coircre has the appearance of a young woman, but her behaviour gives the lie to this assumption. When we first found her, or rather she found us, it was nearly ten months ago. Our scouting party was exploring some of the further reaches of the island led by Mactire when suddenly a flapping bundle of furs, leaves and hair landed on the ground in front of us. Wary of attack, Mactire moved forwards mace at the ready, only to be greeted with a huge grin full of white teeth and an elfin face tilted to one side. The monster was nothing more than a feral child, but it quickly became apparent she could babble in her own way but our language was a mystery to her.

Mactire seemed to take to her in a paternal sort of a way, and we brought the child back to the citadel with us. Since that time she has grown startlingly quickly, seeming to experience adolescence and its clumsiness in only a few short weeks. This time was long enough for her to fall into one of the large dye vats in the citadel however - hence the name Coircre - our mother tongue for purple, her colour for nearly three months!

A fast and able learner, Coircre has proved herself equally at home working with Mactire scribing and learning to make maps, as with Corthar learning the arts of war. From what we have been able to understand of her speech (which tends to deteriorate when excited) she was only a few weeks old when we found her, and remains closely connected with the small pool of water and glade that was her first home.

Thus far we surmise that as the oppressive influence of the Calebi was removed from Armengar, the natural energies and magic of the island have undergone something of a resurgence. The result has been many new fey of forest, water and mountain.
