Siryel Orakhyn, Warden of Sorrows Pass

Elf

Died 1105 AF at the Gathering of Nations on Tamerus

I am born Elf, member of the High Guard of the Kings. From birth I have been trained to fight & heal, as every member of my family, as every member of The Guard. I have always loved what I was destined to be it was an honour for me to be body-guard to Our Royal Family. Fighting & healing are all I know. A very good student, my training ended when I was 150, which is young even according to Elven standards.

In order to become a recognized member of The Guard, I was sent on a mission. Protect one of our diplomats in a quite important mission with a neighbouring nation. The mission went well; our diplomat was successful and secured the alliance he sought. Attacked and captured by a rival nation on our way back, I managed to free myself, retrieve the treaty, but I failed in saving Amerth, our diplomat.

In that I knew my mission had failed, and that I could never hope to be a High Guard again, that I had laid shame on my family and teachers, but also that I must return to my nation in order to give them the treaty Amerth had negotiated. Back at the High Guards Camp, I put myself in the hands of the Guard Master, my uncle. Now prisoner in my own home, I waited for judgement and didn’t hope for mercy. Death would be a relief compared to a life of dishonour within my nation, especially since I would never be allowed to fight again.
Judgement came in the form of exile. I would keep my life, but not my nation. I was banished from my country and my people. I spent the next 55 years wandering bounty hunter, selling my fighting skills to whom needed them.

Only recently, I was hired on a contract that ran parallel with the Tribe, and fought side to side with its valorous warriors. The warmth of their welcome made me want to join them, I felt at home again, amongst warriors and friends. I requested abode within their group and was granted it.

I have been fighting at the sides of my Brothers & Sisters of the Tribe for 2 years now, & have found a new purpose.
