Tadhg

Human (Armengarian)
Healer/Incantor (Heramacles)

Tadhg let out a sigh that he hoped would catch the attention of his brother, who was shaking the limp form of his father, comatose in the chair, as he had been since years previous. He was shaking him so hard that if there had been any life in him a few minutes before it would certainly be gone now.
"Conchubhair. Conchubhair stop it. You'll upset mother."
The tall, stocky figure of his brother turned to face the statement.
"But this time I'm certain I saw him move. He blinked. He's there, inside."
Tadhg looked up at the emotion, and the raw power that caused his brothers chest to rise and fall as if he had run a perimeter of the citadel. The energy that he drew from the thought that some day his father would wake up was incredible.
It had also brought his brother great pain, and for this he could not abide the thought that his father was still alive. But his thoughts were his own.
What mattered was that his brother still had hope, and unfounded or not it was a good thing, and it kept the family together. Tadhg smiled inwardly. In a strange way Eoin was still taking care of his family.
"You know what, maybe you're right. Talk to him, I'm sure he wants to know what you're doing."
And so Tadhg sat back, content in the knowledge that even though he might have given up on his father long ago, not everyone had.

Tadhg O'Dea was born early in the spring of 1086. It was a little too early however, as he had not been expected for another month. Almost a year later was born another boy, Connor. Tadhg started his training at the age of five, as with most, but his brother insisted that he start at the same time, even though he was young.
His parents, Cait and Eoin, were not infamous warriors, but makers of leather armour. Eoin was not content with this, and was obsessed with making a name for himself. One summer when Tadhg and Connor were very young, he went out with armour he had made, and a rusty sword, convinced that he would help drive away the Calebii and be remembered forever. He was dragged back a day later, and although he was thought dead, healers managed to bring his body back into a stable condition. His mind however, never returned. To this day Tadhg is torn between hate for how his father tore the family apart with his selfishness, and his respect for his brother who cares much for Eoin, believing that one day he will awaken. It takes a great effort on Tadhg's behalf to even mention the name of his father, and doing so brings out the worst from his personality.
For much of his youth Tadhg had felt tingling in his hands and was fairly skilled at reading the emotions of others. He thought that everyone could do this, and couldn't understand why others didn't instantly know when he was upset or joyous. His mother, whom he confided in, thought that these might be the signs that Tadhg had a connection to the plain of life, but left him to make up his own mind as to what he would become. At the age of 8, when Tadhg felt he was old enough to make his own decisions in life, he requested that he be allowed to drink the sap of the Wishing Tree to become a healer. This he did, and although he was dangerously ill for a few days, he recovered with a strong connection to the plain of life.
At the age of 13 Tadhg requested to become an apprentice to a priest of Heramacles.
He did this because he wanted to enhance his healing capabilities, and Incantors were often known to be skilled as healers themselves. But by the time he had finished his apprenticeship to Selmac Ni Chinsealaigh, Tadhg found that he had gained much more than a skill. He had gained a strong faith in others from the tutoring. Selmac had taught him her own beliefs on many things, and since then Tadhg has become quite diplomatic, never wanting to get onto anyone's wrong side. He will do mostly anything for the sole reason that he thinks it is the right thing to do, and binds himself strongly to kindness and honour. Often Tadhg's old characteristics come out when he is under pressure, and he can come across as headstrong and stubborn, but this he tries to keep in check.
